Cherish The Times

Cherish each of the moments you live

And live to cherish the moments lived.

For it is but a short time given to all, within which

To embrace the gift in all its dimensions,

And make the best of the precious opportunity.

Rather than squander it in the hopelessness

Of despair and self-doubt, nay don ye the vest of

Steadfast courage and resolve undeterred to

Triumph and soar with the eternal winds of hope

Towards the promise of the fullness of life.

Therefore, my friend, minimize regret . . .

Love life, live free, be kind, and  live well.

Diary of Enikan

So today, considering the accumulation of time translating into my age, I decided to sit and ponder about life… And figure out where next, and why. But then my contemplation, as would sometimes evolve from the best intentions, took a detour and centered squarely upon my youth and what my first recollection was. Probably that was where I was destined to explore, maybe it was not. Nonetheless, I found myself on that intriguing journey and embraced it. How early in life could I recall anything about my existence and what impact did the event have on the course and the next chapters of my journey. Oddly, as I ventured deep into this self-imposed exercise, to my elation, I was comforted by the retrospective view, not because all the unfolding scenes were of pleasant description but because the challenge forced me to inquire deep into the labyrinth of the mind and the recesses of time to interestingly extract from apparent conscious oblivion, that which was powerfully present once but now embedded in the past.

How time fades the past into the forgotten, only to be retrieved somewhat by deliberate measure. Undeterred, I continued down each nostalgic lane and was gratified that the fog of memory parted sufficiently to reveal the crossroads of possible recollection and the impossible to retrieve. I lingered at that juncture in that early decade, made acquaintance again with my young self and marveled at what my life entailed at that time. Oh, how blissful the carefree days of early youth. The cryptic irony being, I did not appreciate the idyllic nature of life as it was then, as much as I appreciate it now.

Well, let me pause with the present introspection, and resume it soon.

Benjoy’s Corner x-4

Hidden Virtue

Although, natural inclination is to somewhat

Ponder on such occurrences for extended time…

Dwell not, on the shortcomings of the past,

Rather, let them instruct you for the future

Particularly towards new strategies and beginnings.

For what good is it to stagnate in irreversible tides,

When otherwise challenging circumstances, inherently,

May expand discernment to alternative options, and

Pave the pathway to brighter and greater horizons.

Stride forward not backward

Life Indeed

Although the reason for existence

May not have been fully elucidated,

To limit the questions abounding

About the essential and real purpose

Of this terrestrial realm we inhabit.

Yet, should time here be thus

Squandered in futile adventure

For lack of absolute clarity.

Nay, each moment as gift, apportioned

And confined, but not defined wholly

By destiny, should be explored diligently

To the breadth of its potential,

Lest we fail to grasp and accomplish

That which was our portion to receive

And the true meaning of life indeed.

Rob Thyself No More

To steal from one’s self is bad enough
But to procrastinate is the worst sort.
For time lost is never regained
Save through the futile guise of memory
And if it has been said too often
Surely it still will be repeated once still
“Procrastination is the thief of time”.

So make haste and don’t delay
Toil, labour with all your might today.
Let not the wily thief rob of you
What is more precious than gold.
For once that glorious sun sets today
No matter how hard we hope and pray
Another morning shall indeed dawn again.

The Riddle

One enigmatic aspect of this life …
May just lie within its illusive nature.
For certain, it is predestined for each
An allotted dimension with this sphere.
Without a shadow of a doubt, what is past
Lies wholly an irretrievable quota, and
Is dissipated within the winds of time,
Coupled with the continuing challenge
Of accomplishing the outstanding agenda
Within a future measure that is uncertain.

Benjoy’s Corner 11 (Time’s Passage)

Make earnest account of the time bequeathed ye.
For moments past, fade dim, are no longer tangible,
Can only relived through the realm of recollection
And avail you not in the extension of your days.

QUANDARY !

Be age time or time age.
Pray thee answer me.
Forsooth, bother me not.
Be time age or age time…
Now pray thee, I knoweth not.
For the collection of time comprises of age
And endless ages make up time.

So which be which.
Be age older than time
Or time more aged than age.
Forsooth, constrain me not
For contained in life are aged ages,
And within life are ancient times.
But alas, for mortals all things shall certainly
Pass away, be it age, time or life itself.

So why ponder in vain venture,
Or in unending perplexity wonder still,
Whether, age be time, or time be age.
Forsooth, worry me no more.
Let us presently within this life, live assiduously,
Faithfully embracing our gift of age and time
Before all things here surely ebb away.

Age is as Inevitable as Time

True it is, age is similar to time
For age like time shall surely come to pass.
Although some say, in essence
That age is indeed time itself.
However ponder a beat, and consider this
Their differences aren’t too far off to see.

Age perhaps is not as elusive as time
Because age often is somehow seen
In the eager eyes of the young
And the graying hair of the old.
For though time ticks into hours and days
That would be more difficult to see.

Now, their differences seem a shade more apparent
Still worthy of note, is the transcending fact, that
The accumulation of time encompasses age.
Thus though different and yet similar
In the same breathe they may appear.
Of certain, is one thing indeed
“Age is as inevitable as time”
To that there is no doubt, my friend.
