For without a doubt, it interjects itself
Unfailing into the course and scheme of life
Thus with the armour of this knowledge, be prepared
To confront the aspect of change should it appear
Even if its essence would take more time to conquer.

So today, considering the accumulation of time translating into my age, I decided to sit and ponder about life… And figure out where next, and why. But then my contemplation, as would sometimes evolve from the best intentions, took a detour and centered squarely upon my youth and what my first recollection was. Probably that was where I was destined to explore, maybe it was not. Nonetheless, I found myself on that intriguing journey and embraced it. How early in life could I recall anything about my existence and what impact did the event have on the course and the next chapters of my journey. Oddly, as I ventured deep into this self-imposed exercise, to my elation, I was comforted by the retrospective view, not because all the unfolding scenes were of pleasant description but because the challenge forced me to inquire deep into the labyrinth of the mind and the recesses of time to interestingly extract from apparent conscious oblivion, that which was powerfully present once but now embedded in the past.
How time fades the past into the forgotten, only to be retrieved somewhat by deliberate measure. Undeterred, I continued down each nostalgic lane and was gratified that the fog of memory parted sufficiently to reveal the crossroads of possible recollection and the impossible to retrieve. I lingered at that juncture in that early decade, made acquaintance again with my young self and marveled at what my life entailed at that time. Oh, how blissful the carefree days of early youth. The cryptic irony being, I did not appreciate the idyllic nature of life as it was then, as much as I appreciate it now.
Well, let me pause with the present introspection, and resume it soon.

Onward March
Do not dwell on the past
If peradventure it lies
Tinged with the aftermath
Of heavy tribulation.
Rather, look steadily ahead to
The promise of the future.
For such past, remains unchanged
And within the confines of the bygone.
Yet, the future portends possibilities.
Thus, focus on the rainbows of your life
Not on the clouds in the fading distance.
Nay, expand your horizons, and aspire
Towards all potential amid the future.
Look forward!

The Extraordinary Tutor
Life is the master teacher,
With no close comparison.
For its weathered volumes of old
Are full of chapters which still
Resonate so profoundly in the
Echoes of the present, and
Will assuredly direct many a
Contemplation in the future.
Of its varied and instructive lessons…
Thus, listen very carefully, and
Observe most intently, then apply
That only which life can impart
In positive measure appropriately.

Step Over It…
Whatever seeks to assail you,
Bet it of sudden or in lingering mode
Step over it
Be it the tempest of life, so cruel
Step over it
That disappointment of life, so unreal
Step over it
The heart-rending betrayal, too deep
Step over it
Whatever it is, that life
May bring to shake your core, in attempt
To eliminate tranquility and progress
That you so ardently seek,
Give it not the chance to prevail, rather
Court courage’s fierce companionship, and
My friend with utmost resolve
Step over it indeed.

Failed Agenda
What is defeat, but another challenge,
Encountered along the way, which may
Inherently seek to derail and project lingering
Emotions of dejection and hopelessness.
Why give it the opportunity, to execute
Its untoward agenda and pervade the
Remaining course with that abject resignation
When assuredly, it can be limited in essence.
Nay, squarely determine to reverse the tide
By employing inward resilience and valor
In favor of transcending the circumstances, and
Certainly defeating that which seeks to defeat.

Lasting Legacy
Be thou not deceived to the contrary …
For ‘tis undoubtedly worth the investment
To safeguard that constant companion, which
Subsists with thee as you journey forward
Through the scenes and storms of life’s sequence.
Though its foundation is fashioned early, still
It is further cast, amid survival, and certainly tides.
Evolving into character distinctively defining
The core of every being, steering each conscience
Towards the conviction of that candid courage.
Therefore, forsake it not, for want of the
Hollow lure of the flawed attributes, steadfastly
Embrace it for all seasons, even though, the
Winds fiercely billow, or tranquility yet prevails, so
That in the final accounting, integrity rewards thee.

Although, natural inclination is to somewhat
Ponder on such occurrences for extended time…
Dwell not, on the shortcomings of the past,
Rather, let them instruct you for the future
Particularly towards new strategies and beginnings.
For what good is it to stagnate in irreversible tides,
When otherwise challenging circumstances, inherently,
May expand discernment to alternative options, and
Pave the pathway to brighter and greater horizons.
