Reflect Nigeria – Chibok Horror Compounded by Dapchi Terror!

Amid the darkness of the gloom

Nothing but despair abounds

In the wilderness of the arid

Drought of feigned existence,

Where no hope subsists,

Do the Chibok and now Dapchi girls find

The extreme disillusionment

Of persistent hopelessness,

That more time evading and counting

All hope, has but evaporated into

The disintegrating dust of time,

To where existence is meaningless,

And has the ironical value of the unrelenting

Real and abiding grief of total bondage and servitude.

Will nobody aid them still…

Fear’s Intrusion (Part I)

Vicious is the apparatus of fear…

For it descends upon you with such awful might

Either in stealth manner or by insidious descent

Then in persistent measure seeks to erode, should one

Permit it to take permanent abode within one’s essence,

The body of hope that ought to propel each one

Into the absolute realm of possibility and beyond despair.

Reject the albatross!

Confront The Scourge

Yet, we turn aside and ignore, the pervasive and awful signs,

Strewn amid the societal fabric, of the callous oppression

Of others in camouflage in plain sight as bullying . . .

In whatever form it rears its despicable countenance, whether within the

Seemingly innocent corridors of schools where children should carefree learn,

In the workplace where one seeks advancing livelihood in earnest regard,

On the roads, where errors in judgement cause volcanic eruptions of sometimes

Fatal rage, through the media where the appearance of some is so often

Mercilessly ridiculed with triviality . . .  be it for sex, gender, persuasion, height,

Skin colour, weight, ethnicity, accent or whatever poorly contrived excuse.

These acts, in essence are a blight on our community of civil humanity, for they,

Assume outright dastardly brutality, often with dire and desperate consequences.

Alas, ’tis  not sufficient to crouch in convenience in the shadow of

Feigned oblivion, nor with malcontent retreat, because the trajectory of the tirade

Or the constancy  of the atrocious acts  presently steer away from your course.

Nay, it is of utmost import to stand forcefully against it when encountered

And join in firm collaborative manner to rid from our existence, the scourge,

Be it as jocular jest or unadulterated abuse, for the absolute good of all.

Lest it, permeate the entirety of relations and none escape the clutches, and

All are consumed within the vortex and held forever hostage of its villainous intent.

Bullying is not a joke.

COURAGE’S STEP

Exude before thou tread
All confidence in thy being.
Shew not timid spirit.
Yield not to intimidation
And favor not like fears.
But with courage, step forth
To empower thy very essence
As enduring and reliable shield
In triumph over this pilgrimage.
For they that with thee likewise walk
Are better not in measure than thee,
Nor entertain they less trepidation.

For in firm embrace coupled with
Stalwart conviction and boldness,
Some in diligence proceed forward
To succeed and conquer still.

Therefore in all things
Embrace fortitude
… And stride.
